About this Course
This three-day professional workshop is a great opportunity for dancers to work with Alexander Ekman's stager and assistant, Ana Maria Lucaciu traveling from New York City to Berlin for us.
This workshop is exclusively for SHARE The Dance Intensive.
This workshop will be operated within the German government's Covid-19 guidelines effective as of April 2022. Before applying, make sure to be able to comply with these conditions and attend the full duration of the workshop. Due to the high demand for our workshops, SHARE The Dance Intensive does not hold spots. Your payment is required within a 7-day time period.
Dancers submitting their application need to have a strong dance technique and physicality and/or any other background that supports their participation in this workshop.
April 12th, 2022: 10:30 am - 4:30 pm Warm-up & Repertoire - 1h Break - Repertoire.

All Applicants must be professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers, with a minimum age of 16 years old.
You must provide a maximum of 1-minute video link (Vimeo or Youtube) of your dancing either improvising or choreographed solo. No group piece. No Instagram or Facebook link.
A full detailed resume is to be uploaded (max 15Mb) or via a weblink (google drive, website, etc...)
Within 3 days after receiving your application form, we will send our response via email. A 7 days period to pay your tuition is required once our email was sent. Every un-paid application is canceled on the 8th day at 9 am.

Workshop Description by Ana Maria Lucaciu
In this process, we will delve into the whimsical world of Alexander Ekman's Cacti, made for NDT II in 2010. Since its premiere Cacti has been performed by over 30 companies around the world. The work is extremely rhythmical, musical, and filled with wit and humor.

About Ana Maria Lucaciu
Ana Maria Lucaciu is a freelance choreographer and performing artist based in New York City.
Born in Bucharest, Romania, Ana Maria graduated from the National Ballet School of Canada and joined Canada’s National Ballet immediately after. She went on to dance with the Royal Danish Ballet, Augsburg Ballet (Germany), The Portuguese Contemporary Dance Company (Lisbon) and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet (New York), where she danced for seven years.
Ana Maria has performed and created works with contemporary dance's foremost choreographers, including Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter, Jiří Kylián, Jo Stromgren, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and many others. As a freelance performer she has collaborated with New Dialect, Zoe/Juniper, Bryan Arias and Aszure Barton & Artists. She assisted Crystal Pite on her Polaris project at New York City Center, and regularly assists Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman with new creations and stages his work around the world.
Ana Maria’s own choreographic work has been presented by the Norwegian National Ballet, New Dialect, SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance, OZ Arts Nashville/ Becca Hoback solo show, Terminus Modern Ballet Theater, Ballet Finland, Battery Dance Company. She also created a full-evening duet with Nathan Griswold that has toured the US and Europe.
Ana Maria joined London’s Rambert 2 company as a rehearsal director for the spring of 2021.
Holder of a BFA in dance from Empire State College, Ana Maria teaches ballet, contemporary, and improvisation workshops at professional programs and dance companies across the US, Europe and Asia.
