Application Details

This three-day Intensive Workshop is a rare opportunity for professional dancers and performers to experience Lloyd Newson/DV8's unique working practice. It will be led by DV8's Creative Associate, Hannes Langolf.

A physical contemporary class will be the foundation of each day and will lead into task based exploration, improvisation, voice work, and creative devising. There will be a strong emphasis on exploring the connection between meaning and movement - and understanding how body language influences performance. The workshop is not specifically based on one particular production, but aims to give participants the opportunity to encounter core elements, methods and skills from DV8’s working practice. Creative exploration will be a driving force during these three days, although specific excerpts of repertoire may be used for context. Participants will be encouraged to confront their physical habits and develop a strong sensibility for detail and authenticity in performance.

The workshop is aimed at curious and committed performers who are keen to challenge and develop their physical training, performance and creative skills. The workshop will be delivered in English.

This workshop will be operated within the German government COVID-19 guidelines effective as of September 2021.

DV8 Physical Theatre (based in London, UK) is an equal opportunities organisation.
