About this Course

This three-day professional workshop is a great opportunity for dancers to work with Romain Guion, performer at "Les ballets C de la B" by Alain Platel, here in Berlin.


This workshop is exclusively for SHARE The Dance Intensive.

This workshop will be operated within the German government's Covid-19 guidelines effective as of August 2022. Before applying, make sure to be able to comply with these conditions and attend the full duration of the workshop. Due to the high demand for our workshops, SHARE The Dance Intensive does not hold spots. Your payment is required within a 7-day time period.

Dancers submitting their application need to have a strong dance technique and physicality and/or any other background that supports their participation in this workshop.

Application Requirements

  • All Applicants must be professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers, with a minimum age of 16 years old.

  • You must provide a maximum of 1-minute video link (Vimeo or Youtube) of your dancing either improvising or choreographed solo. No group piece. No Instagram or Facebook link.

  • A full detailed resume is to be uploaded (max 15Mb) or via a weblink (google drive, website, etc...)


Within 3 days after receiving your application form, we will send our response via email. A 7 days period to pay your tuition is required once our email was sent. Every un-paid application is canceled on the 8th day at 9 am.

Workshop Description by Romain Guion

In the course of the 3-day workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn some
choreographic material of Les Ballets C de la B ( and to gain
insights into the creative process of the company. Alongside delving into the repertoire, the partakers
will be invited to reflect on their own artistic practice and to explore diverse creative tasks through
free-form, open-ended, and guided improvisations; the fundamental elements of the modus operandi of
Les Ballets C de la B. The overarching goal of the workshop is to foster a dynamic artistic exchange
and to encourage professional movers of all kinds to experiment, question, dare, and most importantly,
to dance.

About Romain Guion

Born in France in 1979, Romain Guion is a Zürich-based dancer, performance-maker, choreographic
assistant, pedagogue, and cultural manager with a 20-year career in the performing arts. He trained at
the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris before joining various
renowned international dance companies such as Charleroi-Danses, National Dance Company
Wales, Dance Theatre of Ireland, John Scott's Irish Modern Dance Theatre, Gelabert-Azzopardi
Companya de Dansa, Eun Me Ahn Dance Company, PVC-Stadttheater Freiburg, Staatstheater
Mainz, Constanza Macras-Dorky Park and Les Ballets C de la B with whom he has been collaborating
since 2011. Alongside his performing career, Romain has assisted in the production of several
creations by Alain Platel, Koen Augustijnen, Juliette Navis, Eugénie Rebetez, Martin Zimmermann
and the freie oper zürich. In 2018, Romain took part in the Venice Biennale performing the
solo Animale choreographed for him by Francesca Foscarini. Since 2000 Romain has been
transmitting his knowledge of contemporary dance and choreography by leading dance trainings and
movement laboratories all around the world. Eager to support the artistic community and to foster
creation, Romain is on the board of directors and curator of the Berlin festival LUCKY TRIMMER, a
non-profit dedicated to the short performance format. He co-mentored the Artistic Development
Program organized by tanznetz|Freiburg in both 2018 and 2019. Romain is the curator of the
professional training and workshop program of Tanzhaus Zürich as well as the artistic coordinator of
the Zürich-based dance collective The Field. In 2019, Romain received a cultural award from the city
of Zürich for his contribution to the local dance community. In 2021 Romain completed a Master in
Arts and Cultural Management with a focus on environmental sustainability in the European
contemporary dance sector.
