During three days, you will have the immense opportunity to work on Marcos' creative process and repertoire, led by former dancer, assistant, and stager Ludovico Pace.

About Marco Goecke

Marco Goecke was the long-time in-house choreographer of the Stuttgart Ballet and the Scapino Ballet, associate choreographer at the Nederlands Dans Theater, resident artist at Gauthier Dance and director of the Hannover State Ballet from 2019 to 2023. In twenty years he created more than 80 works. These include commissioned works for many international companies such as Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, the Paris State Opera Ballet, the Vienna State Ballet, the Norwegian National Ballet, the Pacific Northwest Ballet Seattle, the Ballet of the State Theater at Gärtnerplatz, the Berlin State Ballet, the Hamburg Ballet, etc Ballet Zurich, the São Paulo Companhia de Dança and the Bavarian State Ballet. Many of his works are rehearsed by other companies. Marco Goecke has received numerous international awards, including the Prix Dom Perignon 2003, the Culture Prize of the State of Baden-Württemberg 2005, the Nijinski Award 2005, the Dutch Dance Prize Zwaan 2017. In 2017 and 2021 he was named in the international critics' survey by the magazine Tanz zum Chosen Choreographer of the Year. In 2022 he was awarded the Kylian Ring. In the 2021-22 season he created the choreography Sweet Bones' Melody at the Bavarian State Ballet as part of the three-part ballet evening Passagen . In June 2023 he will curate the first edition of the Spheres series .

About Ludovico Pace

Ludovico Pace was born in Rome and grew up there and in Paris. At the age of nine he received his first ballet training at the Académie Chaptal in Paris, one year later he attended the Ballet School of the Paris Opera. He continued his education at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris. After competing at Prix de Lausanne, he came to Stuttgart, where he graduated from the John Cranko Schule. The following season he was taken into the Corps de ballet of the Stuttgart Ballet. His personal repertoire with the Stuttgart Ballet includes solo roles such as, Sleeping Beauty (Marcia Haydée), Gaité Parisienne (Maurice Bejart), Krabat and Salome (Demis Volpi), La Sylphide (Peter Schaufuss), Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, The Taming of the Shrew and Initials R.B.M.E (John Cranko), Leonce and Lena (Christian Spuck), Siebte Symphony (Uwe Scholz) and The Second Details (William Forsythe) He also created works with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Christian Spuck, Bridget Breiner, Edward Clug, Jorma Elo,Louis Stiens and created and danced many pieces from Marco Goecke. He also participated also in various galas and festivals around the world. He started assisting Louis Stiens in 2014 for his first major work for the Stuttgart Ballet, they collaborated many times after. In 2016 Marco Goecke asked him to assist him for a new creation for the John Cranko school, that lead him to become Marco assistant for further works for the company and outside. Since leaving the Stuttgart Ballet in 2018, he has been setting Marco Goecke’s works in companies such as L’Opera National de Paris, Greek National Ballet, Nurnberg Staastheater and others as well as guest teaching and giving workshops. He is a Ballet master with the Staatstheater Hannover since the 2019/2020 season under the direction of Marco Goecke.

About this Course

This workshop is exclusively for SHARE The Dance Intensive. Dancers submitting their application need to have a strong dance technique and physicality and/or any other background that supports their participation in this workshop.

Workshop Description​

Each day will begin with a warm-up led by Ludovico Pace to then continue with a repertoire workshop on the work of Marco Goecke.

Application Requirements

  • All Applicants must be professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers, with a minimum age of 16 years old.

  • You must provide a maximum of 1-minute video link (Vimeo or Youtube) of your dancing either improvising or choreographed solo. No group piece. No Instagram or Facebook link.

  • A full detailed resume is to be uploaded (max 15Mb) or via a weblink (google drive, website, etc...)


Within 3 days after receiving your application form, we will send our response via email. 7 days to pay your tuition is required once our email is sent. Every un-paid application is canceled on the 8th day at 9 am.
