About Darren Devaney / Berlin
Born and raised in Edmonton, Canada, Darren began his studies at Victoria School of Performing and Visual Arts. He continued his studies at the Boston Conservatory, and after receiving a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, joined Ballet BC under the direction of Emily Molnar. There he performed works by Johan Inger, Jorma Elo, Cayetano Soto, and William Forsythe, to name a few. Since 2016, he has been involved in Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar’s L-E-V Dance Company, where he has toured internationally. He was part of the creation of Eyal&Behar’s ‘Love Chapter 2’, ‘Chapter 3: The Brutal Journey of the Heart’, as well as many location-specific projects.
About this Course
This workshop is exclusively for SHARE The Dance Intensive. Dancers submitting their application need to have a strong dance technique and physicality and/or any other background that supports their participation in this workshop.
Workshop Description
The workshop will consists of an improvisational warm-up designed to ignite the senses, the imagination, and the total physical body, and will be followed by excerpts from the repertoire of Sharon Eyal.

Application Requirements

All Applicants must be professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers, with a minimum age of 16 years old.

You must provide a maximum of 1-minute video link (Vimeo or Youtube) of your dancing either improvising or choreographed solo. No group piece. No Instagram or Facebook link.

A full detailed resume is to be uploaded (max 15Mb) or via a weblink (google drive, website, etc...)
Acceptance
Within 3 days after receiving your application form, we will send our response via email. A 7 days period to pay your tuition is required once our email was sent. Every un-paid application is canceled on the 8th day at 9 am.

About Sharon Eyal
Sharon Eyal was born in Jerusalem. She danced with the Batsheva Dance Company between 1990- 2008. Eyal served as Associate Artistic Director for Batsheva from 2003–04, and as a House Choreographer for the company from 2005–12. During her time with the company, she created 16 new creations. In 2005 Eyal started to collaborate with Gai Behar on her creations and the L-E-V company and different projects. During 2009 Eyal began creating pieces for other dance companies around the world. In 2013 Eyal launched L-E-V with her long-time collaborator Gai Behar.
