Dance//Novella is seeking 10 emerging professional dancers to join our 2027 Emerging Artist Program!
Four weeks of collaboration, research + development, creation, portfolio development, and workshops, culminating in public performances in Vancouver.

Opportunity
Dance//Novella invites up to 10 emerging dance artists to participate in a tuition-free, four-week professional development intensive in Vancouver, Canada. Led by Co-Artistic Directors Racheal Prince and Brandon Lee Alley, both former Ballet BC artists, with Brandon currently performing with Kidd Pivot, the program offers an immersive environment for training, collaborative creation, mentorship, and artistic development.
The program begins with a three-week, site-responsive creation residency at The Polygon Gallery, where participants engage in daily contemporary training, ensemble creation, and guided artistic development. The final week takes place at The Dance Centre, featuring works
Participants will also develop professional portfolio materials, including video documentation, a professional photo shoot, and letters of recommendation.
Who is this forEarly-career dance artists navigating the transition into sustained professional practice. Applicants may have post-secondary dance training or equivalent professional experience. There is no age limit. The program is open to artists based in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. We welcome international applicants; participants are responsible for securing appropriate travel documentation and covering any additional costs not supported by the program.
