Jon Bond
Kidd Pivot - Crystal Pite

Raised in Southern California, Jon began his training in competitive dance at Center Stage Dance Academy in Long Beach, CA. He later furthered his studies at the Orange County School of the Arts while training in such studios as Jimmie Defore’s Dance Center, The EDGE and Millennium Dance Complex. Upon graduating the Orange County School of the Arts, Jon was contracted by The Dance Theater of Harlem-Dancing through Barriers Ensemble under the Direction of Arthur Mitchell and Keith Saunders. As a member of the ensemble he had the prestigious honor of performing with LeAnn Rimes at the White House for President George W. Bush, The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as part of the “Protégés of Ballet” international dance festival, and with Aretha Franklin at the historic Apollo Theater. From 2007-2015 Jon danced and originated many works with Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet under Artistic Director Benoit Swan Pouffer (Alexandra Damiani ’13-’15). In 2015 Jon went on to dance for the Nederlands Dans Theater 1 for 10 years before taking on a guest artist position with NDT1 to continue his role in the Crystal Pite/Simon Mcburney Trilogy of 'Figures in Extinction', while also stepping into the role of guest repetitor for the restaging of Crystal Pite's 'The Statement'. Currently Jon is a stager for Crystal Pite while continuing to choreograph his own works and lead workshops
Jon was a critics choice pick in the Oct 2019 issue of Dance Europe, a featured “Top Ten Performances of 2013" in the Dec/Jan issue of Pointe Magazine as well as on the cover of Pointe Magazine Oct/Nov 2010. His work also includes 2011's season 8 of SYTYCD and can be seen dancing alongside Fiona Apple in her 'Paperbag' Music video and Emily Blunt in the Major Motion Picture, 'The Adjustment Bureau’.
Jon has worked with and toured the works of Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, William Forsythe, Marco Goecke, Johan Inger, Jacapo Godani, Stijn Celis, Jo Strømgren, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Benoit Swan-Pouffer, Richard Seigal, Jiří Kylián , Alexander Ekman, Luca Veggetti, Edward Clug, Damien Jalet, Didy Veldman, Marina Mascarell, Paul Lightfoot & Sol Leon, Tao Ye, Regina Van Berkel, Emanuel Gat, Simon McBurney, Andonis Foniadakis, Sharon Eyal, Christos Papadopoulos and Hofesh Shechter.
Jon has led workshops, summer intensives and/or set choreography for the Nederlands Dans Theater, Rambert (UK), Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Milano Contemporary Ballet (IT), Pennsylvania Regional Ballet, GroundWorks Dance Theater, Premio Internazionale Danza RIETI (IT), The Juilliard School, PACE University NYC, Purchase University, SpringBoard, Modena Danza (IT), Oliva Contemporary Dance Project (IT), Mediterraneo Dance Festival (IT), Colabo Youth Dance Collective, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Orange County School of the Arts (formerly OCHSA, Santa Ana), California School of the Arts (San Gabriel), The EDGE PAC, Millennium Dance Complex, Backhausdance, The Vision, NYCDA, STEPS on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, Dancers Responding to Aids-DRA, and many studios throughout the US.
