Yuval Pick
Choreographer

Yuval Pick created a unique choreographic language, independent of all the influences that marked his artistic journey. Through each creation, he continuously deepens his approach to the relationship between movement and music. He constructs unprecedented dialogues, intertwines rhythmic elements, and reconfigures the performative space. His works are characterized by a sophisticated movement vocabulary, important collaborations with composers, and a choreographic approach that continually explores the balance between the individual and the group.
As director of the National Choreographic Center of Rillieux-la-Pape from August 2011 to December 2024, Yuval Pick brings with him a long career as a performer, teacher, and choreographer. Trained at the Bat-Dor Dance School in Tel Aviv, he joined the Batsheva Dance Company in 1991, leaving in 1995 to pursue an international career with artists such as Tero Saarinen, Carolyn Carlson, and Russell Maliphant. In 1999, he joined the Ballet of the National Opera of Lyon before founding his own company, The Guests, in 2002. In January 2025, he founded his new company, Lignes Sauvages, marking a new chapter in his artistic journey. This company is entirely based on his ®Practice method, reflecting his commitment to sharing his vision of the contemporary body : holistic, altruistic, and aimed at enriching dancers' training. He is artist-in-residence at Théâtre de la Renaissance in Oullins for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 artistic seasons. As director of the National Choreographic Center of Rillieux-la-Pape from August 2011 to December 2024, Yuval Pick brings with him a long career as a performer, teacher, and choreographer.
