Nicole Kohlmann
Marco Goecke

Born in Frankfurt (Main) Nicole Kohlmann received her education as a dancer at the College of Music and Performing Arts, Frankfurt, the Heinz-Bosl-Foundation, Munich and
the Academy of Dance, Mannheim, where she was also trained as a dance pedagogue. Her 20-year career as a dancer led her to the Staate Opera Unter den Linden Berlin, the
Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Saarland State Theater, Saarbrücken, the Company Introdans,
Arnhem (NL) and the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam (NL). During this time she was involved
in numerous creations including the choreographers M. Bejart, E. Wubbe, G. Reischl, H.
Vierthaler, Y. Uotinen, M. Donlon and M. Goecke. In addition she was engaged as a dancer, actor and choreographer in several film productions. After her career as a dancer, she studied theatre studies and art history (BA) as well as dance studies (MA) at
the Free University of Berlin, and participated in a training program for production and artist management at Tanzbüro / Berlin. Since 2012 she has been working as a freelance ballet master, choreographic assistant, dramaturge and production manager for dance productions for, among others, the young Berlin Ballet Company. As co-curator and co-
production manager, she was responsible for the highly successful realisations of the charity galas Ballet for Life by Iana Salenko in 2023 and 2025 in aid of Ukrainian war victims. Another major focus of her activities lies in staging the choreographies of Marco Goecke which she undertakes with great passion and sensibility for the aesthetic and
artistic finesse of his works.
