Heidi Vierthaler
Heidi Vierthaler
With a 35-year career encompassing roles as a dancer, educator, and multidisciplinary creator, Heidi has a wealth of experience and an influential network across Europe. Her collaborations with groundbreaking choreographers, including William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Mari Kajiwara, Budo master Akiro Hino, have provided her with a lawless yet safe space for exploring the boundless possibilities of the dancing body. These experiences form the strong foundations that have propelled her on a fulfilling and inspiring journey.
With dance as her medium, she communicates through her Streamflow Method, that fosters respectful dialogues with leading contemporary dance companies in internationally, creating pathways for new artistic collaborations, and further nurtures her rooted connections with diverse dance communities and visual artists worldwide.
As in recent collaborations, as with textile designer Samira Boon, I have discovered the ways in which a multidisciplinary approach can elevate a performance and provide an audience with fresh perspectives with which they can experience dance. I am currently developing new projects with artists and designers to bring their artistry into collaboration with my choreographic research, and look forward to continuing with these inspiring conversations.
I seek to meet experts who are engaged in other fields, such as science, fashion, design and craftsmanship and develop the understanding of new tools that will further foster original ideas. https://heidivierthaler.com/about-new
