Spencer Dickhaus
Crystal Pite Repertoire
Spencer Dickhaus is a freelance dancer, choreographer, repetiteur, and teacher based in The Hague, Netherlands. Originally from Minnesota, USA, he graduated with a BFA from The Juilliard School in 2012. After graduation, Spencer joined Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), where he performed for seven seasons (2012-2019) in works by choreographers such as Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter, Jiří Kylián, Alexander Ekman, Franck Chartier & Gabriela Carrizo, Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar, and Johan Inger.
As a freelance artist, he has performed in productions including Khôra by Astrid Boons, Bird Dog by Marina Mascarell, as well as Grand Finale and Clowns by Hofesh Shechter. Spencer is an assistant to Crystal Pite and has restaged her works at The Royal Ballet in London, Zurich Opera Ballet, Staatsballett Berlin, and The National Ballet of Canada. He has also served as a guest rehearsal director with NDT2 during the 2021-2022 season.
Additionally, Spencer has created a series of solo works titled Practice I-III and developed the piece Recess (2022), which toured the Netherlands with the Moving Futures Festival.
