About Sofia Nappi

International choreographer and dancer from Italy, graduated from the The Ailey School in New York to then deepen her studies internationally. In her training the close contact with the Hofesh Shecter Dance Company and her studies of Gaga, language of the famous choreographer Ohad Naharin, play a fundamental role. Sofia is artistic director and co-founder of her project KOMOCO thanks to the generous support of the historic Ass. Sosta Palmizi, Ecotopia Dance Production and her unique collaboration with her first muses Adriano Popolo Rubbio and Paolo Piancastelli.

About Glenda Gheller

Originally from Asiago, Italy, Glenda started her professional training in various dance programs all around Italy. She then decided to moved to the UK where she continued her education at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. She graduated in 2018 with a First Class Honours Degree and in the autumn of the same year she became a member of VERVE19, a junior dance company directed by Matthew Robinson. In August 2019, she completed her MA Degree in Contemporary Dance Performance. In January 2020, Glenda becomes company dancer of Scottish Dance Theatre, Dundee. During her artistic career, Glenda has performed works by Sharon Eyal, Maxine Doyle, Noa Zuk, Emanuel Gat, Roser Lopez Espinosa, Sofia Nappi, Botis Seva, Joan Clevillè, Ben Wright, Theo Clinkard, Colette Sadler, Mele Broomes, Janine Harrington and Meytal Blanaru. In June 2023 Glenda moves back to Italy to join Komoco, company directed by Sofia Nappi. Currently, she’s touring two productions with them, IMA and PUPO. Since 2020, Glenda has been developing her teaching practice, leading classes and workshops around Italy and the UK. For the past two years, she is also been discovering her own artistic voice as a
choreographer.

About this Course

This workshop is exclusively for SHARE The Dance Intensive. Dancers submitting their application need to have a strong dance technique and physicality and/or any other background that supports their participation in this workshop.

Workshop Description​

Each day will begin with a warm-up led by Glenda Gheller on the creative process tools used at KOMOCO to then continue with a repertoire workshop on the work of the company.

Application Requirements

  • All Applicants must be professional or pre-professional dancers, movers, or performers, with a minimum age of 16 years old.

  • You must provide a maximum of 1-minute video link (Vimeo or Youtube) of your dancing either improvising or choreographed solo. No group piece. No Instagram or Facebook link.

  • A full detailed resume is to be uploaded (max 15Mb) or via a weblink (google drive, website, etc...)

Acceptance

Within 3 days after receiving your application form, we will send our response via email. 7 days to pay your tuition is required once our email is sent. Every un-paid application is canceled on the 8th day at 9 am.
